2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R bookings open

Kawasaki dealers in India have begun taking bookings for the 2020 Ninja ZX-14R. While the price remains the same as the 2019 model, at Rs 19.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India), dealers tell us that the latest version is only available in limited numbers.

A few dealers have also suggested that bookings for the 14R will only be open for a few more days (till October 19). This is because the company has to place an order for the 2020 14R as soon as it can so that the motorcycles make their way here before the BS6 emission regulation falls into place on April 1, 2020. The company is forced to do so because the 2020 model is only BS4 compliant.

The latest version of the bike features a new colour scheme called Metallic Diablo Black/Golden Blazed Green. When compared to the older bike where green was the overpowering colour, this one has a lot more black in its dual-tone scheme. Nothing else has changed on the 2020 version and it remains mechanically identical. It continues to be powered by the massive 1,441cc, four-cylinder engine that makes 210hp (with RAM Air) and 158.2Nm of torque.

Rumours suggest that this 2020 Ninja ZX-14R might be the last iteration of this particular generation of the ZX-14R that was first introduced in 2012. The bike is due for a big update and it’s bound to happen next year, with emission norms getting stricter around the globe.
