Honda CB500, CB1000 Hornet, NX500 shown at EICMA 2023

Honda has revealed a slew of new and updated two-wheelers at EICMA along with an electric scooter concept. Read on to find out more.

Honda CB1000 Hornet: new flagship naked bike

Utlising the 2017 Fireblade’s engine, the new CB1000 Hornet makes ‘over 150hp and 100Nm of torque’. This engine is nestled in a new steel twin-spar frame suspended by a USD fork and monoshock, both courtesy of Showa. A 5-inch TFT dash is on offer and allows you to control the riding aids here, while three default riding modes and traction control are on offer here.

Honda CB650R, CBR650R: updated with E-Clutch tech

Both the Honda inline-four middleweights have been updated with a sharper design language and receive a new TFT dash for 2024. And these bikes are also the first in the line-up to feature Honda’s new E-Clutch technology.

Honda CB500 Hornet, NX500: new middleweight 500s

The CB500 Hornet replaces the erstwhile CB500F while the NX500 will fill the shoes of the outgoing CB500X. Both are powered by the same 471cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47.5hp and 43Nm, and both bikes get the same 5-inch TFT dash now. Honda has also given the CB500 Hornet and NX500 traction control for 2024.

Honda CBR600RR: Legendary supersport back in Euro 5 guise!

Making a comeback after over six years in Europe, the CBR600RR is now back and Euro 5-compliant. Its liquid-cooled, 599cc, inline-four screams to just under 16,000rpm, and is rated for 120hp at a heady 14,250rpm and 63Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. The 600RR is now thoroughly modern and packs in a bevy of electronic rider aids borrowed straight from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, including riding modes, cornering ABS and traction control, wheelie control and lift control. It also gets an electronic steering damper as standard. 

Honda SC e: concept: previews second Honda EV two-wheeler

Showcased previously at the Japan Mobility Show a few weeks ago, the Honda SC e: concept previews Honda’s second electric two-wheeler for the European market, after the EM 1e: scooter. Honda says that the production version is due to arrive in 2025 and even European A1 license holders will be able to ride it, which means its peak power output will be no more than 15hp.
