Ola has announced three new products – the Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro – at its Sankalp 2024 event. It will begin delivering these motorcycles by 2025, starting with the Roadster X. The company also shared its plans for the next two years at the event.
Ola's new Roadster series comprises three motorcycles built on a scalable platform, and all of these sport a futuristic and minimalist design. The Roadster X starts at Rs 75,000 for the 2.5kWh base model and is priced at Rs 85,000 and Rs 1 lakh for the 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh variants, respectively. Ola claims the 4.5kWh can do 0-40kph in 2.8 seconds, achieve a top speed of 124kph, and offer a 200km range.
The Roadster X will feature disc brakes with Combi Braking System (CBS), a 4.3-inch LCD screen (powered by the latest MoveOS 5), and three riding modes: Sport, Normal, and Eco. Deliveries are expected to commence in the first half of 2025.
Ola Roadster
The Roadster will be powered by a 13kW motor and be available in three variants: 3.5kWh, 4.5kWh and 6kWh. Prices start at Rs 1.05 lakh for the base variant, Rs 1.20 lakh for the mid-spec, and Rs 1.40 lakh for the top-spec. The top-of-the-line variant has a claimed 0-40kph time of just 2 seconds, a top speed of 126kph, and a claimed range of 248km. It will be equipped with four riding modes (Hyper, Sport, Normal and Eco) that can be toggled via a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen.
The Roadster will also have cruise control, proximity unlock, smartwatch app integration and other AI-powered features. Ola also claims the Roadster will have disc brakes with single-channel ABS and cornering ABS. Deliveries will begin by the first half of 2025, shortly after the Roadster X.
Ola Roadster Pro
The Roadster Pro will be powered by a motor with a peak output of 52kW and 105Nm. It will be available in two variants, 8kWh and 16kWh, priced at Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.50 lakh, respectively. Ola claims the Roadster Pro can do 0-60kph in 1.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 194kph. It also claims the 16kWh battery has an IDC range of 579km.
The Roadster Pro will have a 10-inch TFT touchscreen, USD fork, dual channel ABS, and four riding modes. Safety features include ADAS, three levels of traction control, cornering ABS and wheelie and stoppie control. Deliveries will begin by the first half of 2026.
Ola Bharat 4680 Li-ION Cell
Ola also announced it would begin developing and integrating its own cells into its electric vehicles in 2025. Currently in trial production at Ola's gigafactory, these cells are expected to be highly cost-effective, providing them a competitive advantage. Ola claims these cells can pack five times more energy than their current cells, will have a longer life with more than 1,000 charge cycles, and support the more fast charging.
