Ola Electric has tweaked its S1 and S1 Air line-up by adding new variants. The S1 and S1 Air range consist of three variants each, and they differ in the size of their batteries, range and top speed. Prices of the S1 Air range start at Rs 84,999, while the S1 range starts at Rs 99,999.

    Ola S1 Air variants: differences

The Ola S1 Air is the base electric scooter in the company's portfolio. It gets features like a conventional telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers as well as a flat floorboard, different seat and a simple, tubular pillion grab rail.

Ola offers the S1 Air in three variants, with each getting a different battery size. The range starts with a 2kWh battery pack variant that's priced at Rs 84,999. Since it has the smallest battery size, its range is the lowest at 85km as per the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC). Shell out Rs 99,999, and you get the next variant that gets a bigger 3kWh battery, and consequently, more range at 125km. Then there's the range topping S1 Air with a 4kWh battery that gives the scooter the ability to cover 165km in a single charge as per IDC. This variant is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh.

A point to note is that while these variants differ in terms of the size of their batteries, they have the same 4.5kW motor and an identical top speed of 85kph.

    Ola S1 variants: differences

The S1 range differs from the S1 Air range by means of a single-sided fork and monoshock, alloy wheels, fatter tyres and so on.

The S1 range also begins with a 2kWh battery variant that gives it a range of 91km as per the IDC. Interestingly, while it has the same 8.5kW motor as the other two variants, its top speed is limited to 90kph. The price of the entry level S1 is Rs 99,999.

If you can stretch your budget by another Rs 10,000; the mid-spec S1 could be your pick. It has a 3kWh battery that translates to a significant bump in range to 141km (IDC), with a capped top speed of 95kph.

Lastly, the Ola S1 Pro should be your pick if you need all the bells and whistles. It has a 4kWh battery that offers a range of 181km (IDC) – the highest of any Ola S1 scooter. Its top speed is also much higher at 116kph, and considering the S1 Pro is the top-spec scooter, its price is highest at Rs 1.30 lakh. That said, this is the new price of the S1 Pro, and it's Rs 10,000 cheaper than before. This alone makes it significantly cheaper than rivals such as the Ather 450X that's priced at Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore, with FAME II subsidy, charger).

    All prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru
