The first spy shots of the refreshed Kia Seltos have just surfaced online. The Seltos facelift has been spotted testing in South Korea with heavy camouflage on the front and at the rear, although it still gives away a few key details. The Kia Seltos in its current avatar was unveiled back in June 2019 (before the current-gen Creta) and a mid-cycle update for the SUV could see the light of day sometime this year. We tell you more about it.
- Seltos facelift will get cosmetic updates at the front and rear
- Expected to remain mechanically unchanged
- Interior could be updated with new features and technology
Kia Seltos facelift: what do the spy shots reveal?
It appears that the updates on the Seltos facelift will not be as comprehensive as the ones seen on the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift. The face on the test mule is heavily camouflaged, although it gives us a sneak peek at the updated headlamps. The Seltos facelift will come with revised LED Daytime Running Lamp signatures, and could even have some resemblance with the recently unveiled Kia Carens in India.
This test mule could, however, still be wearing dummy parts and there could be more changes on the final model. Apart from revised headlamps, the Seltos is also expected to get a revised front bumper along with a new and larger grille. There does not seem to be any notable changes in profile of the SUV, and while the rear end is completely camouflaged too, we expect a revised design for the tail lamps and the rear bumper. In comparison, the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift gets a completely new front fascia and a revised rear-end design, marking a more significant shift in its design from the current model.
Although these spy pictures of the Seltos do not give us a look inside the cabin, going by the exterior updates, we do not expect any significant changes to the interior either. It could, however, be updated with new features, technology and trim elements.
Kia Seltos facelift: engine and gearbox details
Under the hood, the Kia Seltos facelift is expected to remain mechanically unchanged. Here in India, it will continue to be powered by the 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, the 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel and the 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. Gearbox options are also expected to remain unchanged from the current configurations.
Kia Seltos facelift: India launch timeline
The Kia Seltos facelift could see its global debut sometime this year, following which it could come to India subsequently. Considering that the Seltos has been here for longer, Kia wouldn’t take much time to follow up on the Creta facelift with the updated Seltos.
