  2. Gets multiple battery pack options
  3. No details on India launch

Renault Megane E-Tech: what is it doing here?

Sources tell us that this particular unit has been imported to India by Renault themselves, and is being meant for internal testing and usage. The brand was evaluating the car for an India launch earlier, but, at the moment, there is no update on those plans.

Renault Megane E-Tech: what exactly is it?

Essentially a production version of the 2020 Megane eVision concept, the Megane E-Tech borrows its design, albeit with a more toned down look. It gets cladding along the lower periphery, with contrasting inserts on the bumpers, depending on the exterior colour.

It gets Renault’s OpenR display on the inside that includes an L-shaped arrangement featuring the 12.3-inch instrument display and a 12-inch portrait-style infotainment touchscreen.

The Megane E-Tech sits on the CMF-EV platform and gets two battery pack choices – 40kWh and 60kWh – along with two motor outputs – a base 130hp and 250Nm, or a more powerful 218hp and 300Nm. Renault claims a range of up to 470km depending on the battery option.

Renault Megane E-Tech: rivals

The Megane E-Tech is primarily sold in Europe, and rivals the Hyundai Kona Electric, the Mini Cooper SE and the Kia Niro EV among others.

Renault’s plans for India

Renault is studying the case for an entry-level EV based on the CMF-A EV platform, as reported by us earlier. The brand is also readying for the India launch of the all-new Duster in 2025.
