  • More than 194 dealerships have opened across India

  • Showrooms, display cars and test drive cars will be sanitised at regular intervals

  • Customers can avail multiple new finance schemes

Keeping in line with the safety protocols issued by the government, Renault has announced that it has opened its office and more than 194 showrooms and service centres in India. As the coronavirus-induced lockdown eases, the manufacturer will open its remaining touchpoints in a phased manner, based on permissions from local authorities.

All Renault dealerships across the country will be completely fumigated and all employees will be screened before resuming operations. The dealerships will monitor its employees daily and adopt new processes to make sure that social distancing and other safety measures are implemented.

Before entering the showroom, all customers will have their temperature checked and will be provided with masks and hand sanitiser. Test drive and display cars will be sanitised at multiple touch points such as the steering, AC vents, dashboard, gear knob, door handle, infotainment system, IRVM, ORVMs, glove box and seat-belt buckles after each customer interaction. The same processes will be followed for all cars that come in for servicing as well. Dealerships will also sanitise discussion tables in the showroom after every customer interaction.

Dealerships have also been instructed to collect documents for test drives, share product information via digital platforms and ensure that test drives are done with a single person only. Customers can book the Renault of their choice on the company’s website or the My Renault App and request the delivery of the vehicle at their homes. In case of any queries, customers can contact the call centre which is now operational.

Renault has also rolled out a ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ finance scheme for customers. This allows customers to buy a Renault car and start paying their monthly instalments only after three months from the purchase. This scheme is valid at Renault showrooms, the Renault India website and the My Renault App.

Aside from this scheme, dealers will also be offering cash discounts, exchange and loyalty benefits and finance at a special interest rate of 8.99 percent. Additionally, there are further benefits for Doctors and Police personnel, under Renault’s ‘Care for Caregivers’ program, as a gesture to thank the efforts of those engaged in the fight against COVID-19 in India.

Renault Finance will also support customers by offering coverage in case of job loss due to layoffs, retrenchment, accidental death, permanent disability and hospitalisation in case of any disease including COVID-19 for a single premium ranging from Rs 650 to 1,600 under the ‘Job Loss Cover’ plan. Furthermore, the ‘EMI Protect Plan’ will provide coverage for self-employed customers, which will be applicable in case of hospitalisation and accidental death for a single premium of Rs 999.

The French carmaker has also started dispatching cars from its plant to North India and Tamil Nadu. In addition of that, export of critical ‘Make in India’ parts have begun from its facilities in Chennai and Pune to select global markets. Renault also announced incentives and relaxation on targets for dealers to ease the effects of the COVID-enforced lockdown.

In terms of products, the manufacturer is gearing up to introduce the AMT-equipped version of the Triber in the coming weeks.
