Sources tell us that the Nexon facelift will be built at the Ranjangaon plant, which is shared with Stellantis who builds the Jeep SUVs at the same location but on a different assembly line.

Tata Nexon facelift expected to look much sharper

The Nexon facelift has been spied tested many times on the outskirts of Pune, and even though the test mules are camouflaged, some details are apparent, including the design direction that Tata Motors will take with this SUV. Expect the Nexon facelift to feature design cues from the recently showcased Tata Curvv, with a design overhaul at the front and the rear.

Upfront, the grill gets a twin-part design replete with diamond-shaped inserts in the lower half. A full-width LED light bar is expected to be positioned from end to end right above the grille, connecting both headlamps. The Tata Nexon facelift's front styling seems to be even more upright with a much flatter nose and a newly designed headlamp, which is positioned lower down. The side profile is expected to remain largely the same save for a new design for the alloy wheels.

At the rear, the tail-lamps sport a fresh design and also get a connected LED light bar. Higher variants are expected to get dynamic turn signals as well. The tailgate design is flatter and blends smoothly with the new-look rear bumper.

Tata Nexon facelift: major interior update expected

Sources tell us that the interior too will see a major overhaul. The dashboard design is expected to be tweaked and the new 10.25-inch touchscreen, which recently made its debut on the Harrier and Safari SUVs, will be included on the Nexon facelift as well. This, along with a new digital instrument cluster could be among the major additions to the Nexon facelift’s equipment list.

As far as features go, there are talks of the Nexon getting a bigger sunroof, more equipment and creature comforts like cooled seats and a 360-degree camera. There are talks of the Nexon getting ADAS as well, at least in the higher variants, which could make it the first SUV in its class to come with this feature.

All Tata models, including the Nexon, were recently upgraded to meet Bharat Stage 6 Phase-II norms. We are told that the Nexon facelift with get the all-new 1.2-litre unit turbo-petrol engine that was previewed with the Curvv ICE concept. This new engine is good for 125hp and 225Nm. In comparison, the outgoing engine churns out 120hp and 170Nm. The Nexon facelift will continue with the 1.5-litre diesel as well. There is no clarity on the automatic gearbox choices for the Nexon facelift as of now.

Tata Nexon EV facelift also incoming

Along with the Nexon facelift, Tata Motors will also introduce the Nexon EV facelift and both models are expected to be continued to be built on the same production line. The Nexon EV facelift could have a slightly different look upfront in order to differentiate it better from the Nexon petrol and diesel models in order to push the new Tata .EV electric-only sub-brand
