Hyundai has filed a new trademark, indicating a probable dual-cylinder technology for its CNG cars.
Currently, the carmaker provides a factory-fitted CNG kit for three models — Exter, Aura and Grand i10 Nios — each equipped with a single cylinder placed in the boot.
    1. Exter, Aura and Grand i10 Nios CNG could soon get a twin-tank setup
    2. Tata Motors currently only manufacturer in India to offer dual-cylinder CNG tech

In May, Hyundai trademarked Hy-CNG and Hy-CNG Duo, with Hy-CNG possibly indicating a new naming convention for its CNG cars, and Hy-CNG Duo hinting at the introduction of dual-cylinder technology. This technology features two smaller CNG cylinders instead of a single large one, increasing boot space compared to conventional CNG cars with a single large cylinder. It's important to note that Hyundai has not yet confirmed this news.

Tata Motors was the first to introduce twin-cylinder tanks for its CNG cars a year ago and now includes them in all CNG models: Altroz, Tiago, Punch, and Tigor.

The Grand i10 Nios is currently India's most affordable CNG car, starting at Rs 7.68 lakh. The Aura CNG is priced between Rs 8.31 lakh and Rs 9.05 lakh, while the Exter CNG ranges from Rs 8.43 lakh to Rs 9.16 lakh. It is yet to be seen if Hyundai will introduce some new features with the CNG cars along with the dual-cylinder technology, or expand the CNG line-up with more variants.
