Ahead of its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show, the Hyundai Creta electric has been officially revealed. A lot of the exterior and interior remains unchanged from the ICE-powered SUV, but the most important figure of interest is the ARAI-claimed range of 473km. Let’s take a closer look at all other details as well.
- Creta electric gets a 51.4kWh battery pack
- Can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 7.9 seconds
- Gets active aero flaps in the front bumper
Hyundai Creta Electric battery and range
The Creta electric will come with two battery pack options – 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery – returning an ARAI-claimed range of 390km and 473km, respectively. We do not have power and torque figures just yet, but Hyundai claims the Creta Electric (Long range) can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 7.9 seconds. Other details known so far are that it will have three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – and that it gets a steering column-mounted drive mode selector, much like the Ioniq 5. It also features single pedal driving which Hyundai is calling i-Pedal technology.
Hyundai claims the Creta Electric can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 58 minutes (DC charging), while the 11kW AC wall box charger can charge from 10 percent to 100 percent in 4 hours.

Hyundai Creta Electric exterior, interior and features
In terms of design, Hyundai seems to have done little to differentiate it from the ICE-powered Creta. Most body panels have been carried over unchanged, and it only gets new soft plastic parts. These include new front and rear bumpers with pixel-like detailing, a new sealed off look for the front grille and new aero-optimized alloy wheels. In fact, with a more angular look for the front bumper, the Creta electric looks quite similar to the N Line variant. A really cool new detail are some active aero flaps on the front bumper to aid aerodynamic efficiency. We also observed that the charging port is located on the nose of the SUV.
On the inside, the Creta electric carries over the dual 10.25-inch screen setup, but it gets a new steering wheel seen on Kona sold overseas, and it also gets a new floating center console design. In terms of features, it gets a panoramic sunroof, vehicle to load (V2L) technology, 360-degree cameras, an ADAS suite as well as Hyundai’s digital key feature.
Hyundai Creta Electric trims and colours
The Creta Electric will be available in 4 variants – Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence – with 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone color options, including 3 Matte colours.. This includes the new ocean blue metallic with black roof pictured here.
Hyundai Creta Electric rivals
The Hyundai Creta electric will directly rival the Maruti e Vitara and the Mahindra BE 6. However, unlike both these SUVs which are based on a born-electric skateboard platform, the Creta electric is an adaption of an ICE platform. Both the e Vitara and BE 6 get larger battery pack options. It will also rival the Tata Curvv EV. Stay tuned to Autocar India for more details on the Creta electric as we await its official debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show.
