The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift has finally been spotted sans camouflage near the firm’s plant in Andhra Pradesh, hinting at its imminent launch. These images show that the India-spec Seltos will be slightly different cosmetically than the global-spec model.

    2. Will be the first Kia in India to get ADAS
    3. Will get the 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine

    Kia Seltos facelift exterior design

Compared to the international model, the Kia Seltos facelift in India will get a slightly larger front bumper, more body cladding and body-coloured inserts in the fog lamp housing. Similarities up front include the redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps that extend into the grille. Interestingly, there's a small box that's visible lower down in the bumper, indicating that it will get ADAS.

In profile, the cladding on the doors is the only change, and while the international-spec models get a new design for the alloy wheels, the India-spec car gets the same alloys as the outgoing Seltos X-Line.

At the rear, again, the Seltos facelift in India will have a different bumper design than the global model and gets body-coloured inserts for the reverse light housing. The Seltos facelift seen in the pictures is the GT Line trim and these inserts could be limited to the higher-spec trim. Unlike the outgoing car and the international model, this facelift can also be seen with two exhaust tips, although it remains to be seen if they are functional or are just for show.

Kia Seltos facelift interior and features

The biggest update to the interior of the Seltos will be the twin-screen layout with a digital instrument cluster. While the outgoing model also gets a single binnacle for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, the former was a lot deeper set and only had an MID between the two analogue gauges.

The Seltos facelift will also get slightly slimmer central AC vents under the infotainment, with the HVAC controls also getting a new look. The automatic variants will now get a rotary drive selector instead of the conventional lever.

One of the biggest new features on the Seltos facelift will be the addition of the panoramic sunroof, which has almost become a norm in this segment. As mentioned, it is also likely to get ADAS, which will make it the first Kia in India with this safety suite. The midsize SUV will also get safety features like six airbags as standard, hill-assist control, vehicle stability management and more.

    Kia Seltos facelift powertrain

Under the hood, the Seltos facelift is expected to continue with the existing 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Kia will likely re-introduce the turbo-petrol engine with the facelift, although it will now get a 1.5-litre unit producing 160hp and 253Nm of torque. Gearbox options are likely to be carried over from the outgoing model.

    Kia Seltos facelift rivals

When launched, the Kia Seltos facelift will rival the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
