MG India's new rewards initiative awards customers waiting for the Hector

MG Motor India has launched a new initiative specifically for customers who'd booked the Hector SUV and are awaiting delivery. Called the ‘Worth Waiting For’ programme, the initiative is essentially a programme that rewards buyers the longer they have to wait for their car to be delivered.

Under the scheme, 1,000 points are awarded to customers for every additional week they wait for their MG Hector. These points can be redeemed at any of the 120 MG dealerships set up across India for the brand’s range of accessories and for prepaid maintenance packages. All the accessories available for the MG Hector come with a one year/20,000km warranty.

Customer response to the MG Hector has been quite good, so far, with the brand reporting that it had received 28,000 bookings and had temporarily halted accepting bookings to keep up with production demand for the model. Most variants of the Hector have a waiting period of up to six months.

This new initiative should help maintain customer interest, especially in the face of increasing competition from the likes of the Kia Seltos, which will launch today.

MG had previously announced a partnership with the Haryana-based NGO IIMPACT, to educate one girl child for every two weeks’ waiting period for the Hector.
