While some might see it as a small BMW, purists will see the M2 as a right-sized BMW. The BMW M2 looks the business on the outside and is neatly done on the inside. Useable rear seats and reasonably-sized boot give it some practicality too.
The M2 Competition shares its 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, straight-six engine with the M3 and M4, and with 460hp on call, performance is plentiful. The M2 is fast and while the manual is fun, its action is a little clunky and clutch heavy, and really it's the 8-speed torque converter auto that will prove faster and more usable. We aren’t fans of the M2’s industrial soundtrack either.
However, on a winding road, the M2 has every bit of the playfulness of a rear-wheel-drive BMW (although it has gotten heavy this time) and the compact dimensions make it easy to exploit the power.

The new M2 draws heavily from the great M cars of the past, but with a generous helping of modern tech.
