After speaking to a number of dealerships across the country, we have discovered that the TVS Apache RR 310 is available with a waiting period ranging between 1-4 months across the major Indian cities. The buyer’s choice of colour seems to play an important role in defining the waiting period. In most states, the Racing Black option is available a month or two earlier than the Racing Red model, due to high demand for the latter.
The Mumbai dealership told us that the waiting period for both colour options is two months while the Delhi dealership promises to deliver the black model in 1-2 months and red variant in three months. A dealership in Kerala claims the highest waiting period time – four months for both options. Meanwhile, the Howrah showroom is selling the black RR 310 with a delivery time of three months and red variant with a delivery time of four months. Interestingly, a TVS dealer in Assam gave us the shortest waiting period of only 15 days for both the red and black models.
In related news, the RR 310 recently received a price hike of Rs 8,000 on its introductory ex-showroom price. This steep hike has brought the RR uncomfortably close to its more-powerful KTM rival, the RC390.
The Apache RR 310 is the most expensive motorcycle in TVS’ portfolio and is based on the BMW G 310 R, which is manufactured by the TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility. Powering this motorcycle is a 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering 34hp and 27.3Nm of torque.
