Hero Maestro Edge 125 launched at Rs 58,500

Hero has just launched the Maestro Edge 125 and is offering it in three variants – a carburettor drum brake variant priced at Rs 58,500, a carburettor disc brake variant at Rs 60,000 and a fuel-injected variant at Rs 62,700 (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Maestro Edge 125 shares its engine with Hero’s only other 125cc scooter, the Destini 125. The fuel-injected variant of the scooter is the first FI scooter in the country and produces more power than the carburetted models with 9.2hp at 7,000rpm and a maximum torque of 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. Meanwhile, the carburetted scooters make 8.83hp at 6,750rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. In terms of styling, not much has changed from when the Maestro Edge was first unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi. The scooter features sharp and sporty styling, and is targeted at younger audiences.

The Maestro Edge 125 features an external fuel-filler cap and a digi-analogue instrumentation cluster, as well as both, side-stand and service indicators. Other features include the addition of Hero’s start-stop technology (Hero i3S) and an under-seat USB port. The Maestro uses a telescopic fork and monoshock set-up.

Hero’s second offering in the 125cc segment, after the Destini 125, will go face competition from other similarly conceptualised scooters like the TVS Ntorq (Rs 59,900) and the Honda Grazia, for which prices start from Rs 60,723.
