    1. Revised styling, ergonomics, features to Harley-Davidson
    2. 17-inch wheels at both ends

The Hero Mavrick is powered by the same air-/oil-cooled, 440cc, single-cylinder engine as the Harley-Davidson X440; it makes the same 27hp, however, slightly lower peak torque than it. The Mavrick is rated for 36Nm and Hero claims 90 percent of that is available at 2,000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch is mated to this engine.

The main frame itself is the same as the X440 but the Mavrick uses a simpler 43mm telescopic fork up front, instead of the USD on the H-D. Ground clearance stands at 175mm and the Mavrick rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends, unlike the 18-/17-inch setup on the Harley.

The bike will be available in three variants: base, mid and top. The base variant is available in a single colour – white – and gets spoked wheels, the mid variant will get alloy wheels and two colours, while the top-spec variant will get Bluetooth connectivity and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The Mavrick will be available out of Hero’s Premia dealer network and while only three showrooms are operational currently, the company is aiming to open 100 dealerships by June. Bookings for the Hero Mavrick 440 begin in February and deliveries will start in April 2024. Keep watching this space to know the Mavrick’s price.
