The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 was launched in India in the middle of January, and while we’ve been fortunate enough to sample it on Rajasthan’s highways, and induct it into our long-term test fleet, most customers are still waiting to receive delivery of their motorcycles. If you’re thinking of joining the queue, here’s how long you might have to wait.

We rang up Royal Enfield dealers across metros and Tier-II cities across the nation, and here’s what we found. On average, the current waiting period for the Super Meteor 650 is about 3 to 4 months, across the country. Certain cities are reporting slightly lower periods of 2 to 3 months, and big metros – Chennai in particular – will have the shortest waiting periods.

The top-spec Celestial variant seems to be in high demand, and has a waiting period of 4 months just about everywhere, while the lower Astral and Interstellar versions are available in 2 to 3 months, with the vast majority of dealers quoting 3 months.

All this is if you go for an ‘off the shelf’ Super Meteor, in one of its three standard variants. If you go for the Make-It-Yours (MiY) configurator and spec out your bike exactly as per your liking, you’re in for an even longer wait, owing to the customisation required.

Would you be willing to wait this long for the Super Meteor 650? Tell us in the comments below.

When you plan for purchase of Bike, the delivery should be immediate. The company was not confident with their new launched machine and that is the only sole reason for delay in delivery of bike. Most companies prepare themselves before launch to supply immediately to increase its road presence. But Royal Enfield wanted to check its demand before production. This is the only cause behind failure to supply on time.
