Yamaha has updated it popular middleweight naked, the MT-09, for 2024 with a slew of changes everywhere.

    1. Brembo master cylinder, new Bridgestone tyres
    2. Gets acoustic vents on the tank that ‘amplify’ the exhaust note

Lets start with the most obvious one – that new angular face. Gone is the bare LED headlight unit of the previous MT, and in comes a sleeker and sharper one. The tank has also been redesigned and Yamaha claims the riding position has been made slightly sportier.

There have been changes to the hardware too, with the MT-09 now benefitting from a Brembo master cylinder and new Bridgestone Hypersport S23 tyres. The rider and pillion both get separate seats now, instead of the single-piece unit on the earlier model, and there's a USB-C type charger under the seat.

Something that's quite interesting on the updated MT-09 is a new acoustic amplifier grille on top of the fuel tank, which transmits the sound to the rider. Yamaha has also done the same thing on the current MT-10.

The updated Yamaha MT-09 will be making its way to India in due course, although Yamaha’s focus is currently on introducing the 300cc models in India by December.
