The Yamaha YZF-R15 S and Fazer V2 are no longer on sale. While the motorcycles were taken off the market when the ABS ruling came into effect, it is still uncertain whether these models will return with the safety tech in the near future.

Yamaha introduced the R15 S back in September 2015. The bike was essentially a boomeranged version of the first R15 that was replaced by the YZF-R15 V2.0. It was brought back mainly because of its popularity, and buyers found its single-seat a lot more usable than the aggressive, two-piece setup of the V2.0. However, the S has started to show its age, especially when compared to the R15 V3.0 and, as a result, has witnessed a decline in sales. And it now seems like the Japanese brand has pulled the plug on the model for good, with a reintroduction highly unlikely.

As for the Fazer V2.0, it was also taken off the market when the ABS ruling kicked in. However, its return is not high up on the company's priority list, as it is focusing on its recently updated FZ range. Yamaha claims to be receiving a good response for these models, and tending to them is their priority. If Yamaha does decide to bring back the Fazer 150, one can expect it to be significantly updated with contemporary styling and features like LED lighting, along with the now-mandatory ABS.

With these two motorcycles gone, it is now the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 that is the company’s most affordable faired bike at Rs 1.40 lakh, followed by the Fazer 25 that costs Rs 1.44 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
