Citroën is set to begin its India innings with ten of its unique La Maison dealerships that will be spread across India. These dealerships are being readied in preparation of the market unveil of the Citroen C5 Aircross which is due in February 2021.

  • The first La Maison will be opened in Ahmedabad
  • La Maison will also open in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Cochin
  • The India-spec Citroen C5 Aircross SUV will be unveiled on February 1, 2021

What is La Maison Citroen?

La Maison Citroen when translated means the ‘home of Citroen’ and it is essentially the brand’s take on a new format for dealerships. This style of dealership uses wood and warm earthy tones which are accented by bright highlights to create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for customers.

For its Indian showrooms, Citroen will equip the La Maison dealerships with large glass facades and big vertical screens designed to attract passer-by’s. These dealerships will also feature a detailed 3D Configurator that will allow customers to go through all the car’s details and options offered by Citroen in order to configure their car in the manner of their choosing.

As Citroen wants to make the La Maison dealerships experience unique, all their dealerships will also have one vintage model on display in addition to the display cars. The brand hopes this will help showcase its heritage to the customers. Additionally, one of the screens in the showroom will give customers access to Citroen’s virtual museum.

The Citroënist Café will also allow customers to come, relax and have a coffee at the dealership – furthering La Maison’s comfort quotient. There will also be an area just for deliveries, to make the purchase and handover experience a bit more special.

Where will the first 10 Citroen dealerships be located?

The first phase of La Maison dealerships will consist of ten showrooms that will be located in major cities across India, including Ahmedabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Cochin.

The first La Maison Citroen in India is almost complete and is a 4,000 sq.ft. dealership located in Ahmedabad, which set to open in the coming weeks.

It is also worth mentioning that this concept was first unveiled in Paris in 2017 and is now present in over 100 locations worldwide. The showroom concept can be scaled up as well as scaled down, due to its use of detailed configurators.

La Maison Citroen accompanied services

Along with this new dealership system, Citroen will also provide its customers the option of home servicing of their vehicles via the ‘Service on Wheels’ initiative for added convenience and safety during COVID times. This will be in addition to  Citroen’s regular service centres.

Another thing the carmaker will offer all its customers, will be pan-India road side assistance (RSA) in order to give them peace of mind.

Citroen models planned for India

The first model Citroen plans to launch in India is the C5 Aircross premium SUV, which is set to be unveiled on February 1, 2021. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be brought to India as a CKD and will be offered with a 180hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. We expect the C5 Aircross to be priced upwards of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Subsequently, Citroen will introduce a number of models based on a new platform, with high levels of localisation under the ‘C-Cubed’ programme. These models are expected to be the brand’s volume sellers, and we have already seen models like the codename C21 compact SUV being tested in India.
