BMW India announces new drifting school

    Participants will be able to learn and hone their drifting skills on BMW M2s and M4s at the M Drift Academy, being held at the Raymond compound on April 26-27.

    BMW India has announced its first drifting school in the country. Called the BMW M Drift Academy and said to be designed for enthusiasts, the event will take place at the Raymond compound in Thane, Maharashtra, on April 26-27 (Saturday-Sunday).

    1. BMW M Drift Academy bookings can be made via District by Zomato
    2. It will have instructors trained and certified by BMW Germany

    Bookings for the BMW M Drift Academy can be made on the online portal District by Zomato. While prices to see the drifting exhibition and the after-party start at Rs 999, the brand has yet to reveal prices for participating in the drift school.

    3.5-hour Drift Pilots training course

    The brand has arranged for M2s and M4s to be made available and brought experienced instructors trained and certified by BMW Germany to coach participants. The Drift Pilots training course includes attaining mastery in controlling and exiting a drift, throttle control, performing and exiting a half-circle drift with style, performing and maintaining a full-circle drift (clockwise and anti-clockwise), and transitioning (drifting in figure 8).

    Once the participants finish the 3.5-hour Drift Pilots curriculum, a select few will receive Red Badges from the BMW M Academy, which is essentially a certification in drifting.
