New Auto Expo to be held in 2027

After briefly switching to an annual format in 2024 and 2025, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo will now go back to a biennial schedule, our sister publication Autocar Professional has learned. This has been done to give the participants more time to make and present next-generation mobility solutions, it reported.

  1. 2027 Bharat Global Mobility Expo (BMGE) likely to be held at multiple venues in Delhi-NCR
  2. Audi, Honda, Nissan and Renault didn't participate in the 2025 Auto Expo
  3. 2025 BMGE was the second biggest auto show in the world: Piyush Goyal said earlier

The next edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo will likely be held from February 4-7, 2027, at multiple Delhi-NCR venues, including Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. While each venue was dedicated to specific categories, the 2025 Auto Expo was mainly held at Bharat Mandapam, part of Pragati Maidan, with additional showcases in other halls there.

BMGE frequency under review for months

Major international motor shows being rescheduled

"We would love to have it annually, but we will be open to suggestions and discussions from all stakeholders because we would like to create a value proposition for everybody," Department of Commerce’s additional secretary, Rajesh Agrawal, had said at the conclusion of the latest BMGE edition in January 2025.

This comes amid prominent auto shows – Frankfurt, Geneva and Detroit – either being scaled down, delayed or redesigned as the industry shifts away from large exhibitions toward smaller, more focused brand events. Notably, the previous move to an annual cycle was made as India overtook Japan as the third-largest car market in the world. The 2025 BMGE was the second biggest auto show in the world, union minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal had stated earlier.
