Lamborghini has revealed the new Huracan Super Trofeo EVO race car. Developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse in conjunction with Dallara Engineering, the new model is meant to further its predecessor’s legacy.

Lamborghini claims that they aim to "maintain the same high downforce of the previous model while achieving higher overall aerodynamic efficiency."

Dallara Engineering had a hand in developing the new carbon-fibre body kit that is meant to reduce drag while providing better high-speed stability. Besides the front splitter, flat floor and rear diffuser, most of the body has been redesigned.

The new Huracan Super Trofeo EVO managed to cut 1.5 seconds off its lap time at Monza thanks to the new body and the addition of a roof hatch.

The race car is powered by a naturally-aspirated, 620hp, 5.2-litre V10 engine that sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission that helps to achieve an electronically limited top speed of 280kph.

The Huracan Super Trofeo EVO will be eligible to compete in the one-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo series and the Gran Turismo Championship in Endurance races as well as the GT Cup category.
