Me and my cars: Allan Almeida

What are you driving and why?

I drive a BMW 330i (E46) as it’s an absolute pleasure to drive. The steering and handling is a thing of joy. I also have a Mercedes-Benz W123, which I drive to the MBCCR.

What’s next on your wish list?

    A BMW M3 (E30).

The most fun you’ve had in a car?

In Pavna, near Lonavla, Maharashtra, with a classic Land Rover Defender 90. We got stuck in waist deep slush for hours, but were eventually able to get out safely.

Favourite / Dream money no object car?

The Lamborghini LM002 has been my dream car since childhood. I love 4x4s and this is one the best of its kind.

Allan drives his W123 to the MBCCR.

Who is your all time greatest motorsport hero?

Valentino Rossi, as I started riding superbikes because of him.

    Favourite road?

The Chorla Ghat, which is on the way to my hometown in Carmona, Goa. It has just the right amount of corners and straights.

What’s on your automotive bucket list?

Drive to the North Pole in a Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series.

What would you do with your last litre of fuel?

Drive flat out at the Rann of Kutch.

Your ideal 5-car garage would be?

    Silver Porsche 356 Speedster

    Red Ferrari F40

    Black 1969 Dodge Charger

    Red Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing

    Yellow Lamborghini LM002

    What was your first car?

    It was a Maruti Gypsy.
