Follow us onRoyal Enfield has recently introduced the refreshed 2024 Classic 350 model in India. While there have been no changes to the motorcycle's mechanics, it now boasts new features and cosmetic updates. Let us delve into the new additions in comparison with the old Classic 350, which is due for replacement.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 features: new vs old
Royal Enfield has updated the Classic 350's lighting configuration, incorporating LED lighting for the headlamp, pilot lights, taillight, and turn indicators. The LED headlamp is identical to the one found on the Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 models. Additionally, the new Classic 350 comes with adjustable brake and clutch levers, a USB-C charging port, and a gear-position indicator. However, it's worth noting that most of these new features are offered only in the top-spec versions of the motorcycles.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 customisation and colours: new vs old
Royal Enfield has unveiled seven new colour options for the 2024 Classic 350: Jodhpur Blue, Emerald, Madras Red, Commando Sand, Medallion Bronze, Sand Grey, and Stealth Black. The company has also introduced a factory custom program that enables customers to personalise their motorcycles by selecting colours, stickers, seat fabrics and badges. To participate in this customisation process, customers need to schedule appointments with Royal Enfield's industrial designers in advance.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 engine: new vs old
Aside from the cosmetic and feature updates, the new Classic 350 remains mechanically the same as the model it replaces. It continues to be powered by a 349cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This air/oil-cooled motor is paired with a five-speed gearbox. It's the same as before and packs the same characteristics and the iconic thump.
The rest of the hardware too has been carried over from the previous model, including the telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear for suspension duties. Entry-level variants are equipped with disc/drum configurations, along with single-channel ABS. However, the top-spec variants feature disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels with dual-channel ABS for better stopping power.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 price: new vs old
The new Classic 350 is scheduled to be launched on September 1, 2024. It remains to be seen how Royal Enfield will price the upcoming model and its variants, but a slight increase is expected because of the added new features and components. It also remains to be seen how much extra a customised Classic 350, as part of Royal Enfield’s factory custom program, will cost compared to the standard versions.
