The Tata Curvv will be the latest entrant in the midsize SUV segment, and it introduces a segment-first coupe-SUV body style. Apart from the unique design, Tata will pack the Curvv with some class-leading features to gain an edge in the hotly contested segment.

Here’s a feature comparison of the upcoming Curvv with its rivals, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and the MG Astor.

Tata Curvv vs rivals: convenience features

The Tata Curvv comes equipped with features including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, driving modes, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat, among others. While many of these are available on its rivals, the Curvv also boasts class-leading elements such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-speaker audio system, and a navigation display on the instrument cluster.

First-in-class features on offer with the Tata Curvv include a powered tailgate with gesture control, flush door handles as well as an illuminated logo on the steering wheel. Moreover, the Curvv will join the Kia Seltos as the only other SUV in this comparison to get 18-inch alloy wheels. Note that the Creta N Line also comes with 18-inch wheels, while the standard version makes do with 17-inchers.

The MG Astor continues to be the only SUV in the segment with a personal AI Assistant. Meanwhile, the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder boast a dedicated EV button to switch to pure battery power, thanks to the strong-hybrid powertrain.

The Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are the only ones in the segment that come with an active cylinder deactivation technology, which switches off two of the four cylinders (1.5L TSI) when the engine is under light load, in order to reduce fuel consumption.

Tata Curvv vs rivals: safety features

The Tata Curvv will also come with ADAS Level 2 safety technology, making it the fourth model in this segment to offer autonomous safety features, alongside the Astor, Creta, and Seltos. However, the Curvv's ESP-based Driver Doze Off Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition give it an edge over the competition.

The Kushaq and Taigun are the only two SUVs here that feature an electronic differential lock integrated into the ESP system. This setup enhances traction and handling by working as a limited-slip differential to compensate for the understeer typical of front-wheel-drive cars during fast cornering.
