KTM launched the 790 Duke in India in limited numbers in 2019 and, a year later, launched the 890 Duke R globally, followed by the standard 890 Duke last year.
For 2022, KTM is all set to launch an updated 890 Duke R as well as a new 890 Duke GP version.
As for the updated to the Duke 890 R, the press release states that it will get a new colourway, but on the other hand, there's a line at the bottom stating it will be a "sharper version" of the previous 890 Duke R. We should know more about the full extent of the updates on February 7.
To reiterate, the 890 Duke R gets a 121hp, 99Nm, 890cc parallel-twin engine. The frame is suspended by WP Apex suspension and braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylemas.
KTM will also launch the Grand Prix-inspired 890 GP on February 22 after the 890R launch event. While to most a GP iteration of a naked motorcycle might seem strange, the RC 8C program is gaining traction and it is possible that some of the bits from that bike may make its way onto the 890 GP.
