The Dominar 400 has now become dearer by Rs 2,000, again. Its price had been hiked by the same amount in March 2018 as well, with the base version of the Dominar 400 now retailing for Rs 1,46,111 as opposed to its previous pricing of Rs 1,44,113. The Dominar 400 ABS variant carries a sticker price of Rs 1,60,272 (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle was launched in December 2016 and since then, its price has increased by Rs 10,000, including the latest increment. The Dominar 400 was introduced with three new colour options along with gold-finished wheels as part of its 2018 update, earlier this year.
The most powerful Bajaj motorcycle hasn’t had a spectacular run in the Indian market. At the time of its launch, Bajaj officials claimed a sales target of 10,000 units on a monthly basis. Sadly for Bajaj, the Dominar 400 couldn’t even come close to its estimated target and peak monthly sales were around 3,000 units. So it comes a surprise that Bajaj, which is normally associated with cut-throat pricing of its products, has hiked the price of the Dominar 400 in less than two months. Talking about its rivals, the Mahindra Mojo UT retails for Rs 1.49 lakh and the standard variant of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 carries a sticker price of Rs 1.36 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
