Another Bajaj Pulsar making its way to dealerships in its BS6 iteration is the 180F Neon, priced at Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The 180F Neon was launched last year as a replacement to the regular 180, and now in its BS6 form costs Rs 11,437 more than the earlier model. This puts the 180F Neon at Rs 1.34 lakh (on-road).
We’re still awaiting official confirmation from Bajaj, but the dealers we spoke to tell us that the new 180F has not received any significant updates over the older model. If that is to be believed, the bike will continue to sport the half-fairing from the Pulsar 220F, along with the twin, vertically stacked headlights, and the matte-black paint job with the neon graphics.
The BS4 model is powered by a 178.6cc, single-cylinder, four-valve engine that makes 17.02hp at 8,500rpm and 14.22Nm at 6,500rpm. With the switch to a BS6-compliant engine, the Pulsar 180F is expected to get a fuel-injection system in place of a carburettor, and a revised exhaust. What remains to be seen is how this switch will affect peak output figures and performance.
