KTM has already revealed that it will be debuting three exciting new made-in-India motorcycles at EICMA – the 390 Adventure, the 390 Enduro and the 390 SMC. Some interesting details on all three motorcycles have now been leaked on social media in what appears to be a photograph of an internal presentation.

  1. 390 Adventure will have three versions
  2. Enduro will be available in 125 and 390 versions
  3. SMC will have reduced suspension travel compared to Enduro

Beginning with the new KTM 390 Adventure, it is now confirmed that there will be at least three versions. The first will be the 390 Adventure R, the second is the 390 Adventure X, and the third could be called the 390 Adventure S, although this information is not visible in the leaked image.

The 390 Adventure R is the hardcore variant and the image confirms that the bike will have adjustable suspension with 230mm of travel. Also confirmed is that the bike will run a 21-inch/18-inch wheel set-up and that it will have a towering 885mm seat height. This will be the tallest seat on any made-in-India bike by some margin, but it appears that the 390 Adventure R will back that up with serious off-road capability.

The 390 Adventure X will be the simplest in the line-up, just as it is with the current-gen 390 ADV. This motorcycle will have the same bodywork as the R, but with smaller 19-inch/17-inch cast wheels. Suspension travel is also reduced, but at 200mm, it’s not bad at all and KTM has managed to lower the seat height to just 825mm, which is a good deal lower than the current 390 ADV. Other cost-saving measures on the X are an LCD dash and no cornering functionality for the ABS, which the R gets.

Only a small portion of the third 390 ADV is visible in the image and the bike gets cast wheels. This is likely to be a better equipped version of the 390 Adventure X and it could be called the 390 Adventure S.

As for the 390 Enduro and SMC, the amount of information is limited, but both bikes will get ‘mold-in’ graphics, as seen on KTM’s off-road competition models. They also appear to share the same bodywork and flat bench seat. The Enduro will be available in both, 390 and 125 guises, and the same is likely for the SMC as well, although the image does not confirm this. The Enduro gets the same 21-inch/18-inch wheel set up as the 390 ADV R, while the SMC gets 17-inch alloys with ‘shorter suspension travel’.

We’ll share an in-depth look at all these bikes when they are officially unveiled at EICMA on November 5, but until then, let us know your thoughts on these machines and whether you think Bajaj should launch all of them in India, or only a selection.
