    Bajaj Pulsar NS125 revealed

Back in April 2018, we broke the news about Bajaj working on a 125cc Pulsar. Now, the Indian motorcycle company has launched it in Poland at PLN 7,999 (Rs 1.59 lakh). The bike comes equipped with fuel-injection and CBS – and as we predicted, it will replace the Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS in India.

The styling of this new motorcycle is similar to the Pulsar 135 LS still on sale in India. However, the NS125 does use a dual-seat set-up instead of the single-piece one seen on the 135. The bike also features a belly pan similar to one seen on other NS models. Similarly, the matte colour schemes on the NS125 look heavily inspired from the ones seen on the NS160 and NS200 models.

Powering the NS125 is a single-cylinder, 4-valve, fuel-injected, air-cooled, DTS-i 124.4cc motor that makes 12hp at 8,500rpm and 11Nm at 6,000rpm. The closest engine to it in India can be found on the Discover 125. The 124.5cc engine on it makes 10.8hp at 7,500rpm and 11Nm at 5,500rpm.

Taking care of suspension on the NS125 is a conventional telescopic fork and a monoshock. Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by a 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum at the rear, with CBS being offered as standard. The motorcycle has a claimed kerb weight of 126.5kg and a ground clearance of 170mm. According to the Polish Bajaj website, the wheelbase of the NS125 is 1,325mm.

Expect the NS125 to be priced slightly higher than the recently relaunched Pulsar 135 LS that costs Rs 62,528 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). In terms of competition, the NS125 will go up against the Honda CB Shine SP and the Hero Glamour 125 – both of which have lower power outputs (10.1hp and 11.3hp, respectively).
