Just one day before its global reveal, the KTM 390 Adventure R has been leaked fully. This will be the most hardcore variant in the next-gen 390 Adventure lineup.

    1. Adjustable long-travel suspension, dual-purpose tyres
    2. 885mm seat height on the 390 Adventure R
    3. Some optional accessories fitted on this bike

KTM 390 Adventure R: what can be seen?

For starters, the design of the 390 Adventure R is very purposeful, just like the bigger 890 Adventure R. The 390 Adventure R has a tall and slim overall silhouette, very much like a rally racer. From the earlier leak, we can confirm that the 390 Adventure R will have a sky-high 885mm seat height and will run on dual-purpose tyres shod on 21/18-inch wheels.

It appears that this particular bike has some optional extras on it in the form of a set of auxiliary lights, crash bars, a sump guard, a taller windscreen and the front brake disc protector. The orange/white/black colour scheme seen on this bike is very similar to the one seen on the bigger 890 Adventure R.

In the past, we have also seen a KTM 390 Adventure R prototype with a cruise control switch, which will make it the first bike in the segment to offer that feature. The R model is also going to have long-travel adjustable WP suspension.

Expect the new 399cc motor to make the same 46hp/39Nm as it does in the 390 Duke, but the mapping and gearing here will be different to suit the bike’s off-road characteristics. The entire 390 Adventure and Enduro lineup will be shown at EICMA tomorrow, so make sure you’re tuned in to our website and our social media channels for the latest coverage.
