- The Renault-Nissan alliance manufacturing plant in Chennai has resumed production and already started dispatching cars to dealerships.
New guidelines put in place by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in lockdown 3.0 have allowed certain businesses to resume operations but in a limited capacity. In accordance with these and the local government directives, Nissan India has restarted operations.
First, Nissan dealerships in Green and Orange Zones have reopened in multiple cities, and the company has also opened its marketing and sales office in Gurugram, with just essential staff in the premise. Lastly, the Renault-Nissan alliance manufacturing plant in Oragadam, Chennai resumed production in limited capacity on May 4, 2020, with vehicle dispatch to dealerships starting on May 7.
All the staff and facilities are working as per the new standard operating designed to promote better hygiene practices to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
