India sales of the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV have commenced once again. The 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc is priced at Rs 21.35 lakh, which is Rs 1.36 lakh higher than the 2020 model.

Volkswagen T-Roc 2021: What's new?
Nothing much except the revised price. Booking amount is set at Rs 51,000 and deliveries are expected to take place by late April this year. Just like the first lot of T-Roc SUVs sold in India, the 2021 batch will also be made at Volkswagen's Poland plant, and brought in via the CBU route.
The T-Roc first went on sale in March 2020 and the first batch of around 1,000 units were sold out in a few months and bookings were closed. The model year 2020 T-Roc was priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.
Volkswagen T-ROC 2021: equipment and powertrain details
At Rs 21.35 lakh, the T-Roc continues to sit under the Tiguan Allspace but will sit above the upcoming Taigun SUV.
Just like the 2020 version, five dual-tone colour options - Curcuma Yellow, Energetic Orange, Indium Grey, Ravenna Blue and Pure White, all with a black roof are expected. and the SUV will be sold in a single fully-loaded trim.
The T-Roc's 2021 equipment list will include features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen, full-LED headlamps and tail-lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, heat insulated windows and windscreen, a panoramic sunroof and ‘Vienna’ leather seats. Standard safety kit comprises 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a parking camera.
Under the hood, the same 150hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol TSI engine will be seen. It comes with cylinder-deactivation tech and is paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard.
Volkswagen T-ROC 2021: rivals in India
In Volkswagen’s India line-up, the T-Roc sits under the Tiguan Allspace, but will be positioned above the upcoming Taigun SUV, which is due in 2021. It has no direct rivals, but falls in the same price ballpark as the Skoda Karoq and the Jeep Compass.
Upcoming Volkswagen SUVs and cars expected in India: 2021 and beyond
As part of its India 2.0 campaign, The Taigun, Volkswagens' most important SUV for the Indian market will take place in the coming months. Additionally, apart from the T-ROC, Volkswagen will also bring the five-seat Tiguan to India this year and the brand is also expected to unveil its Vento-replacing sedan based on the Virtus by end of this year.
