Nissan’s luxury division, Infiniti had originally revealed the high-riding Q30 in concept form at the Frankfurt motor show in 2013. The concept featured prominent flowing creases, swept-back headlamps flanking a prominent grille along with a rising roof line and a sharply raked windscreen.

The company has now revealed the production model prior to its official unveiling at this year's Frankfurt motor show and it is clear that the production car has retained much of its styling from the concept. Based on the MFA platform underpinning the Mercedes A-class, the Q30 will rival the likes of the latter and the BMW 1-series in international markets.

Though overall styling is identical to the concept's, the production car’s headlamp elements have been restyled while the front bumper is new with restyled air-dams and air-vents along with garnish on the lower lip. The wheels and wing mirrors have also changed from the concept model.

Infiniti is yet to reveal any details about the interiors or drivetrain of the Q30.

The Q30 will become the first Infiniti model to be manufactured in Europe when it goes into production sometime around 2015-end. It will shortly be followed by its crossover sibling – the QX30 – which is expected to go into production sometime in 2016.
