    Tata Harrier bookings open

UPDATE: Production-spec Tata Harrier leaked ahead of official unveil

Tata Motors has officially begun accepting bookings for its upcoming Harrier SUV. The company has announced that the SUV can be booked for an amount of Rs 30,000, which is fully refundable, as reported by us last week. Bookings can also be made on the newly launch Tata Harrier website.

As far as prices go, according to sources, the model will start at roughly Rs 16 lakh for the lower trim and will cost around Rs 21 lakh for the top-end variant, on-road. At this price point, the Harrier is aimed squarely at the Hyundai Creta, upcoming Nissan Kicks and even the Mahindra XUV500.

The Tata Harrier is a five-seat SUV that has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads and also on the popular Kari Motor Speedway. The model sits on Land Rover D8 platform and will be powered by a 140hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic will be on offer.
