Updated VW Polo, Vento launched

VW launches refreshed Polo and Vento with new features. Prices for the Polo Highline start at Rs 6.94 lakh and the Vento Highline costs Rs 9.89 lakh.

Volkswagen has launched refreshed versions of its Polo hatch and Vento saloon with added features to boost its sales volumes.

The new Polo and Vento now get black inserts in the headlights and new alloy wheel design. Upgrades to the cabin are more prominent and include leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever, a new music system with USB, Bluetooth connectivity, speed sensing volume control and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. In addition to these, the Vento also gets a new navigation system with a rear-view camera.

Commenting on the occasion, Arvind Saxena, MD, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “Introduction of new features in the Polo and the Vento will further excite the customers as both the models will offer more value now.”

Surprisingly, the top-end variants of the Polo and the Vento models are now cheaper by around Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively. The Trendline and Comfortline variants of both models are dearer by Rs 11,000-22,000.

The new Polo Trendline (petrol) will cost Rs 4.89 lakh as against Rs 4.67 lakh, while the top-end Highline (diesel) is now priced at Rs 6.94 lakh, as opposed to Rs 7.36 lakh. The Vento Trendline (petrol) is now for Rs 7.29 lakh - up by Rs 11,000 - while the top-end Vento Highline (diesel) is priced at Rs 9.89 lakh. (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Volkswagen will start sales of the refreshed cars by the second half of September 2012.
