Built on Suzuki's Heartect platform, the new Swift is about 40kg lighter than its predecessor.
The new Swift meets upcoming Indian crash test norms; comes with two airbags and ABS as standard.
Rear styling is a departure from the older Swifts. Prominent lip on tail gate adds muscle to design.
Third-gen Swift's smooth lines are contemporary Suzuki yet the model retains the sporty and compact look of its forebears.
There is a clear connect to older Swifts when viewed in profile. The stubby nose, blackened A-pillar and upswept glasshouse are Swift design trademarks.
The 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol and 75hp, 1.3-litre diesel engines are carried over from the last-gen Swift.

Spot the differences. On the left is the top-spec Swift with blackened headlamp cluster, LED headlights and 'precision cut' dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels. On the right is a lower variant model with simpler halogen headlamps and smaller 14-inch alloy wheels.
L and V trim Swifts come with 165/80 R14 tyres while Z and Z+ versions get 185/65 R15 tyres as pictured here.
