My daily commute ranges between 40 and 50 km. Which EV would you suggest between the MG Windsor EV and the Tata Punch EV, or should I wait for the Tata Sierra EV? I am 6 ft 3 inches tall and need good legroom.
The MG Windsor EV is not only a superior electric vehicle but is also significantly roomier than the Tata Punch EV. The MG's added space is something you will really appreciate, making it the easy pick of the two models on your shortlist.
However, if you don't mind the wait, the Tata Sierra EV could be the best pick for you. It's larger than the Windsor EV and promises more headroom, legroom, and shoulder room. Final specifications for the Sierra EV aren't out yet, but we expect it to be more powerful and capable of delivering a longer range than the Windsor EV.

I am planning to buy an electric car with 80% city use and 20% highway driving. My maximum budget is ₹30 lakh. Should I buy one now or wait?
There are some interesting electric cars expected to be launched in the next few months, so if you can wait, you will get a wider choice. Cars like Honda's mid-size electric SUV and the Tata Sierra EV will arrive in the later half of 2026.
If you cannot wait until then, you could look at the Hyundai Creta Electric, which is a good all-rounder and will do well in the city and on your occasional highway runs too.

I own a 2023 MG ZS EV and am very happy with the performance, service and overall reliability. It has done 90,000kms and I'm looking to upgrade it to something around 30 lakhs on road. I really like the BE6, should I wait for Sierra ev. I can wait for a few months. Please help me i'm open to other options too
It’s good to know you have had a good experience with EVs and are ready to buy your next one.
The Tata Sierra EV is unlikely to arrive before August next year, so you will have a long wait. If you like the Mahindra BE6, go for it. It has a striking design, drives really well and comes with a lot of features.
The big negative is that the rear seat isn’t very comfortable, and you may want to wait for a new variant due in late January or early Feb 2026. It will get a three-screen infotainment system similar to the one in the XEV range

Hi, I would like your advice based on my usage. I want to upgrade my garage to two city cars and one highway car. My current city car is a Swift diesel AMT with a usage of 1,200 km per month, and my highway car is a Kia Seltos with a usage of 1,000 km per month. I now want to replace both cars and get two EVs for city use, namely the Tiago EV and the Sierra EV. For highway use, I am looking at the BMW M340i because it has adaptive suspension. Do you think it is comfortable for long highway journeys? Please suggest suitable cars for my usage.
The Tiago EV is a sensible, affordable city runabout that works very well for errands and short urban commutes, and that’s exactly how we would recommend you use it. The Tata Sierra EV, meanwhile, is still some time away – launch is expected in 2026 – but on paper it promises a strong combination of space, range and features, and should be priced competitively when it arrives. However, it’s too early to comment on how it will drive as we haven’t driven the production car yet.
The BMW M340i is a very quick, engaging sports sedan that can double up as a daily driver, and the adaptive suspension has definitely improved its usability. That said, it still feels a bit firm and always “on its toes”, so it isn’t the most relaxed choice if you prioritise long, laid-back highway cruising.
One of our favourite sporty everyday sedans in this space is the Audi S5; it offers strong performance but with a more compliant ride and more easy-going manners, so it’s worth considering as your highway car.

Hi sir, I own a 2016 Hyundai Creta 1.6 diesel SX with 1.17 lakh km on the odometer. I am planning to replace it with a budget of up to ₹30 lakh. I drive 60 km on alternate days with a mix of highway and city usage. I want a vehicle with at least the same power and fuel efficiency as my current car. Also, should I consider an EV?
Considering your usage, an electric car makes a lot of sense, and within your budget, you have quite a few current and upcoming options. If you want something that feels familiar but is a proper upgrade in terms of tech, driving, and comfort, you can go for the Hyundai Creta Electric. It is powerful enough, has a good range, is creamy smooth to drive and is a well-rounded product.
If you want something larger with more range and performance, you can consider the Mahindra XEV 9e. It is more spacious, has a larger boot, a bigger battery pack that gives it a longer range, and it offers more tech as well.
If you are willing to wait a bit, the Tata Sierra EV is just around the corner, and a seven-seat version of the 9e named the Mahindra XEV 9S is coming as well.

What is the expected launch date of the Tata Sierra petrol? (Current car: 2023 Volkswagen Virtus)
The Tata Sierra with internal combustion engines is expected to be launched on November 25, 2025. Though details have not been revealed yet, it is expected to be launched with two 1.5-litre petrol engines and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, all equipped with manual and automatic gearboxes.
