My usage is around 2,000km per month, and I'm looking to replace my Vento diesel with an SUV under Rs 20 lakh. My requirements are fuel efficiency, space and manual transmission. Cars like XUV700, Creta and Seltos have a very long waiting period, and I'm not willing to wait so many months.

Autocar India Says: You're right, the cars you mentioned have long waiting periods. Among these, the XUV700 is a segment above in terms of performance and space. If you can, we'd suggest you book the XUV700 diesel MT, and join the queue. If you get lucky, you might get an allotment sooner.

Meanwhile, Toyota's all-new hybrid SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, will be revealed on July 1. In terms of size, it will be similar to the Creta. It's likely to be very fuel efficient, and could just meet your requirements. However, more details on this car will only be known next month.
