MG Comet EV powertrain, battery and dimensions

The Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery that's IP67-rated for water and dust resistance and gets an ARAI-certified range of 230km. MG is offering a 3.3kW onboard charger that takes seven hours to fully charge the battery. The Comet gets a single electric motor on the rear axle that develops 42hp and 110Nm of torque.

    MG Comet EV rivals

Thanks to its unique three-door hatchback body style, there is no direct rival to the Comet and the EV has a niche of its own. However, being an entry-level EV, it will see a comparison with the likes of the five-door, all-electric Tata Tiago EV (Rs 8.69 lakh-12.04 lakh) and the Citroen eC3 (Rs 11.50 lakh-12.43 lakh) hatchbacks.
