BMW has taken the wraps off the new, limited-run 7-series Edition 40 Jahre. The new car has been revealed prior to the Frankfurt motor show which will take place in September. The Edition 40 Jahre is meant to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 7-series and only 200 examples will ever be made and sold worldwide.

Visually, customers who are willing to get their hands on the Edition 40 Jahre will have the option of a Frozen Silver Metallic finish or the Petrol Mica metallic from the BMW Individual range. The car comes with the M Aerodynamics package fitted as standard, which gives the car revised bumpers and a black kidney grille.

The car is furnished with a high-gloss Shadow Line and 20-inch BMW Individual light alloys. There are also special badges on the B-pillar, door sills and on the dashboard to differentiate the special edition from standard models.

Inside, the car has the option of either a BMW Individual full leather trim Merino grain in a Smoke White/Cohiba finish or a Smoke White/Black finish. All 200 limited-run models will come with comfort seats, front and rear. Neat touches include the addition of comfort cushions from BMW Individual as well as distinct floor mats.

The BMW 7-series Edition 40 Jahre will commence sales in October and customers can choose between the standard-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions, and have a choice of six-, eight- or twelve-cylinder engines.
