Mahindra KUV100 Trip variant coming soon

    Mahindra KUV100 pre-facelift model.

In order to push sales of its smallest model, the KUV100, Mahindra is readying a new variant of the hatchback, likely to be called the KUV100 Trip.  The car will be Mahindra’s answer to the Maruti Dzire Tour and the Hyundai Xcent Prime, which are also aimed at fleet or taxi operators.

The big news is that this will be the first time the company will offer the hatchback with a petrol-CNG configuration, with the Mahindra KUV100 Trip getting a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG variant as well as a diesel engine option. Both motors will be same as the ones in the standard KUV100, churning out 71hp (petrol-CNG) and 78hp (diesel).

The KUV100 Trip will be based on the pre-facelift K2 variant and will come with a six-seater configuration. Mahindra is likely to sell the KUV100 Trip hatchback as a five-seater in some Tier-1 cities like Mumbai.

As far as equipment goes, the KUV100 Trip will come with power steering, AC, steel wheels, ABS and EBD, but misses out on power windows.  Two exterior paint shades – white and silver – will be offered. The KUV100 Trip will, initially, only be offered to fleet operators.
