The MG M9 will be the brand’s second premium all-electric product at the recently announced MG Select outlets, with the first being the stylish Cyberster sports car. Both models will be displayed at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025 in New Delhi, which starts on January 17.

    • The MG M9 MPV is likely to come with a 90kwh battery
    • It gets a 7-seater cabin, massaging seats for the second row
    • It will take on the Vellfire and Carnival in India

MG M9 India launch by March 2025

The MG M9 was previously showcased in India as the Mifa 9 MPV at the 2023 Auto Expo to gather customer feedback. Likely to be priced around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom), the MG M9 MPV gets a spacious three-row, 7-seater cabin, replete with second-row reclining ottoman seats that offer eight massage functions. It will have many other creature comforts, such as three-zone climate control, a separate touchscreen panel for the second row, seat ventilation, dual sunroofs, powered sliding rear doors, and rear entertainment screens.

In terms of styling, the MG M9 gets a typical MPV-like boxy look, but there are many design details that give it its own personality. The upright nose gets a full-width LED light bar that houses the turn signals at each corner. The headlamps are positioned at the bumper and surrounded by a chrome outline that merges neatly with the chin. The faux air dam at the lower part of the bumper houses the licence plate and sensors. At the back, it gets more chrome bits and vertical tail-lights that get a drop-down look, again connected via an LED light bar. There are minor cuts and creases at the back and added chrome around the bumper.

MG M9 MPV to be sold in 12 Indian cities initially

MG Motor India will initially have its premium MG Select outlets in 12 cities. Thanks to the growing interest in luxury MPVs, the M9, a premium offering, will be aimed at customers looking to buy the Carnival, which comes with a diesel engine, or the more expensive Vellfire that gets a petrol-hybrid setup. In contrast, the M9 MPV gets a pure electric powertrain with a 90kWh battery, providing a claimed WLTP range of 430km.

Expect MG Motor India to share more details on its MG Select premium outlets, as well as the M9 and the Cyberster EV, at the Auto Expo 2025.
