MG Windsor EV prices increased by Rs 50,000

    The ex-showroom price hike applies to all three variants of the electric vehicle.

    JSW MG Motor India has increased the variant-wise prices of its most-selling car, the Windsor EVNotably, the January price hike, confirmed by a dealer source, comes nearly four months after its September 2024 launch. MG sells the Windsor EV in two guises: with a battery and battery on rent, and three variants: Excite, Exclusive and Essence.

    As the table above shows, a standard price hike of Rs 50,000 applies to all three trims, ending their previous introductory rates. The Windsor EV comes with a 38kWh battery pack, which powers a front-axle engine producing 136hp and 200Nm of torque. The electric vehicle has a claimed range of 332km on a single charge. MG still offers a lifetime battery warranty to the first buyer, but the free public charging at designated stations offer for the initial year has ended for new buyers.

    Under the BaaS scheme, the per kilometre cost of the Windsor EV has gone up to Rs 3.9, while the ex-showroom rates remain unchanged. MG partners with four finance providers in India, with varying prices charged on the monthly running of the Windsor, which goes up to Rs 6.6. The battery can be juiced up from 0 to 80 percent in 55 minutes with a 45kW fast charger. However, it takes 6.5 hours (7.4kW) and 13.8 hours (3.3kW) to charge from 0 to 100 percent.
