BMW is all set to launch the new-gen 5 Series in India next month. The luxury sedan will be offered in the long-wheelbase version here for the first time, making India the first market outside China – and the only right-hand-drive market – to get the stretched executive luxury sedan. Read on to find out the answers to frequently asked questions about the upcoming BMW 5 Series LWB.

What powertrains will be on offer on the BMW 5 Series LWB?

The new-gen BMW 5 Series is offered with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains overseas. However, for India, BMW will launch the 5-series LWB with a single petrol engine option. Which cars does the BMW 5 Series LWB rival?

The BMW 5 Series LWB’s biggest rival is the Mercedes E-Class, which has been on offer in long-wheelbase form for a while now. It will also compete with the Audi A6 and Volvo S90.
