Mercedes E-Class LWB: what’s unique for India?

First up, India is the only market where Mercedes-Benz sells the E-Class LWB in right-hand drive layout. This is the second-gen of the E-Class to have this India-specific configuration. The company has announced that the new E-Class LWB has received its type approval certificate from ARAI and has been tested at multiple locations in India like Pune, Chennai and Indore and also overseas in Germany and Spain.

The new-gen E-Class is a more tech-laden than its predecessor and promises to be more comfortable as well. It is 13mm taller and 14mm longer than the previous E-Class, and also gets a 15mm increase in wheelbase. Some of the highlights include Mercedes' Superscreen layout, a 4D surround sound system by Burmester and a backrest that reclines between 26 and 36 degrees, which is slightly more than the outgoing car.
