I want to buy another car which is spacious and comfortable and comes with an automatic transmission. I have a budget of around 15 lakhs. Which cars do you suggest?
My priority for getting a new car is a bit different from usual. I have three dogs (all medium-to-large breeds: Golden Retriever, Labrador and Indian Pariah), and I like travelling with them on long road trips once every quarter. My previous car was a 2014 Honda Amaze MT, which was very cramped. My requirements are an SUV that is powerful and safe. Maintenance and fuel costs can be a little high. My preferred budget is Rs 15 lakh, but I can stretch to Rs 20-22 lakh if it is worth it. I love driving and music and prefer a manual transmission, though I can consider an automatic. The EcoSport’s flatbed was interesting for my use case.
I own a 2013 Swift VDI that has done 80,000 km. I recently switched jobs, and my monthly usage has increased to roughly 1,500 km, with 65% highway usage. I am planning to upgrade to an SUV, but due to parking constraints, I can only consider a sub-4-metre SUV. Should I go for a diesel again or opt for a turbo-petrol, since I have not had to worry about DPF issues so far? Also, which car and variant below ₹15 lakh would suit me? Please exclude Tata and Mahindra.
I’m planning to buy a new petrol automatic and would like suggestions based on my needs. My monthly running is about 800 km (mostly city) with occasional highway trips carrying five passengers. My priorities are comfort, practicality, reliability, fuel economy, and stability. Must-have features are a sunroof, reverse camera, cruise control, and modern tech and safety. I’m considering Syros HTK Plus DCT, Nexon Creative Plus DCA, Venue HX8 DCT, Brezza ZXI AT, and 3XO RevX A, but I’m open to better alternatives.
Considering your requirements, the Kia Syros fits the bill and will offer everything you need in one package.
The petrol engine has enough grunt for daily city driving, and the DCT gearbox is easy to use, especially if you’re not expecting high performance. The drive modes also help it adapt better on highways. It has the roomiest cabin among the SUVs you’ve mentioned.
The rear seat with the recline function is very comfortable. The panoramic sunroof brings in a lot of light and makes the cabin feel more open. The features and equipment list are excellent, and the overall build quality is very impressive.
The only area where it may fall slightly short is fuel efficiency, though the difference isn’t much.
Overall, it’s a fantastic package and works as a great all-in-one car.
Hi, I currently drive my car for 6,500-7000 km a year. 85% of my drive is within the city (mainly home-to-office) and 15% on NH. Looking to buy an Automatic Petrol car (SUV) with a Rs 15-16 lakh budget. Interested in a car with good handling, which is comfortable for 6-foot-tall people to sit, and has annual maintenance not in excess of Rs 10,000. Please advise.
I have been driving an Ignis since 2017 and have crossed 1,50,000 km. It is still going strong. Since my age is around 70, I want to switch to a new car with a DCT AMT. My budget is around ₹15 lakh. Please suggest a car that fits my parking space. There is no room for long SUVs. Looking ahead, should I choose diesel or petrol?
I currently own an automatic Fortuner used mainly for highway runs and need a new automatic car (strictly ₹15 lakh on-the-road, Chennai) for family use. My driving will be 70% city / 30% highway. It must be a wide, proven car that comfortably fits 2 adults + 1 teen in the rear, from established brands (no risky new marques), with strong safety and dependable performance. I’m deciding between GV, Victoris, Hyryder, and XUV 3XO - sub-4-metre cars won’t meet my rear-seat space needs. Which should I choose?
The XUV 3XO you have shortlisted is a sub-4-metre SUV, but don't rule it out as it has a wide and spacious back seat.
In fact, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which is also a sub-4-metre SUV, also has a wider back seat and more headroom than its larger siblings, the Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara, while having the same petrol engine and 6-speed AT.
What's more, you will get a fully loaded Brezza ZXi+ AT for the same price as a lower spec Victoris VXi AT, and within your budget of Rs 15 lakh, on road.
If you're fine with Kia as a brand, and don't mind the polarising exterior look, the Kia Syros 1.0 T-GDi HTX DCT is an excellent option in your price range, with superb interior space.
I'm looking for a new car for my 68-year-old father. He wants a compact SUV with good ground clearance because our i10 often bottoms out on the ramp of our new home. The car should offer good manoeuvrability on narrow streets, excellent all-round visibility, and easy ingress and egress. He may also have a driver, so the back seat should be spacious. The car will be used only in the city and must be a petrol automatic. Among the Hyundai Venue HX5 and Kia Syros HTK Plus variants, which will be better?
My Honda City is now end of life, and I have shortlisted the Nexon Smart Plus AMT, Glanza S AT, Amaze V CVT, and Swift VXi AGS. These cars belong to different segments, but this will be my second car as I already own a sedan. It will be used mostly for city driving, and I don't want to spend much. Please advise which one to choose, or if I should stretch a bit and go for the base Kia Syros. I am also open to CNG.
The Kia Syros is a nice option that scores very well for cabin quality and space. However, you'd have to settle for a manual gearbox version within your budget. Given that you will primarily use the car in the city, we'd advise an automatic and suggest you consider the options listed above.
