MG Motor India has launched a one-stop solution for EV charging called ‘eHUB’, which aims to simplify the EV charging experience for customers nationwide by providing them with a single platform.

    1. MG eHUB can be used by all EV owners free of cost
    2. New app in collaboration with Jio also introduced
    3. Windsor EV launch soon

The MG eHUB platform simplifies the process of locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations. With the help of partnerships with EV charging providers such as Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq and Zeon, eHUB offers access to almost the entire charging network available in the country. The app is free to use for all EV owners, regardless of which car they own.

MG has also introduced a few other initiatives like Project Reviv, which aims to repurpose used EV batteries by extracting healthy battery components and building energy solutions for use in schools and community centres. EVPedia, another initiative, provides relevant information on EVs like cost of ownership, a repository of government policies, and a collection of publications and research papers.

The carmaker has also launched a new platform in partnership with Jio called MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP). This platform adds an app store that can be used to download gaming, entertainment, and learning apps. It also adds home-to-car functionality. The MG-Jio app can be added to existing MG EVs without any hardware upgrade. All apps that have been introduced support OTA updates.

    MG Windsor launch soon

MG is currently working on the launch of its third fully-electric car in India, the Windsor, which will also be the first offering to get the aforementioned features. The Windsor EV is essentially a crossover, which is sold as the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia by parent group SAIC. It gets two battery pack options overseas: a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh, with 360km and 460km range, respectively. It’s powered by a front-axle mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 134hp, but it's yet to be confirmed which version will be available in India.
