Tata Motors says the new greenfield factory, for which the company will invest about Rs 9,000 crore, will be able to produce over 2.5 lakh vehicles per year at full capacity. The brand says that production at the plant will begin in a phased manner and progressively increase to reach this capacity over the next 5-7 years.

As we've reported earlier, this plant will focus on producing EVs based on the Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform for both Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors. Industry insiders say two-thirds of the production capacity will be allocated to Jaguar Land Rover and one-third to Tata Motors. Imports will account for a significant portion of the plant's production.
